ON THE STREET: TOURING PIER 39
Photographs by Stefan Hartwig

Pier 39. Oh, the humanity. Literally. This place is packed with people. All tourists (including us), coming to see what they’re supposed to see.
I didn’t like it much. My fingers apparently didn’t like it either… they keep trying to type Peird 39 for some reason, presumably as an underhanded insult to the place.
It does make for some amazing street photography opportunities though. These shots are the results of my efforts.

Are these Leica shots?
Stefan Hartwig
Hi Lorenzo,
I used to shoot on a Leica digilux3, but now I use the Canon 5D exclusively. I think the 24mm prime does an awesome job of hitting the Leica look though.
I still miss the Leica, but my wife has a wide variety of extremely nice Canon lenses, so I’m enjoying using those.
